EX Team Rocket Returns is the name given to the seventh main expansion of the EX Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. In Japan, it was released as Rocket Gang Strikes Back, the third expansion in the Pokémon Card Game PCG Era. It is seemingly based on the return of Team Rocket, as depicted in Gold, Silver, and Crystal. It features both Generation I and Generation II Pokémon. The English expansion was released on November 8, 2004, while the Japanese expansion was released on October 15, 2004.
EX Team Rocket Returns introduced Pokémon ☆, a type of Pokémon with different coloration to what is usual for its species. Pokémon ☆ had part of the Pokémon out of the artwork window border and the rarity symbol was gold foil.
Rocket's Pokémon-ex had spikes on the border of the artwork window and for the base of the Pokémon type symbol. The Team Rocket logo was displayed on the bottom right of the attack box. Reverse Holofoil from this expansion onward featured the set logo on the bottom right corner of the artwork. Reverse Holofoil versions of the Rare and Rare Holo cards have gold foil name text and rarity symbol.
